Free Public Talk. Dr. Ahmed Ghobarah, a pioneer in tsunami engineering, describes such devastating waves as the Boxing Day 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami that killed approx. 300,000 people and caused staggering damage. A professor emeritus in civil engineering at McMaster, Dr. Ghobarah draws lessons in planning and construction to reduce destruction and loss of life in Canada and elsewhere. Everyone welcome.
