Join CHORUS HAMILTON for an enchanting performance of Franz Joseph Hayden’s THE CREATION on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. in Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton Avenue West, Hamilton. Soloists will be Vania Chan, soprano, Anthony Varahidis, tenor, Kyle Guglielmo, baritone, accompanied by the Concert Sinfonia, with Erika Reiman at the piano, all under the baton of David Holler.
After a performance in 1799, a Viennese journalist, Joseph Richter, wrote: “I would not have believed that mere human lungs and sheep gut and calf’s skin could create such miracles...I never left a theater more contented, and all night I dreamed of the Creation of the World.” This most benevolent and life-affirming music is a fitting performance as Chorus Hamilton celebrates 50 years of choral music-making in the City of Hamilton. “Sing the Lord, ye voices all....through all creation....”
Tickets are $30.00 and can be purchased through the website at www.chorushamilton.ca, by e-mail at chorushamilton@yahoo.ca, or by contacting Joan at 905-318-9381.
