The Art of Peace Exhibit at the McMaster Museum of Art will be launched with a reception that is open to the public. Elizabeth Doxtator uses cornhusk as an artistic medium to express key parts of traditional Haudenosaunee stories and culture. The cornhusk dolls and the dioramas tell the story of the Peacemaker and the Great Message of peace, power and righteousness that was brought to the people who lived on and around the south shores of Lake Ontario. The exhibit will be on display until Saturday, April 2, 2016.
This exhibit is offered in partnership with the McMaster Museum of Art, the Indigenous Studies Program, and the Perspectives on Peace campaign.
All are welcome.
