We are creating pollinator-friendly gardens along the Pipeline Trail. The focus will be on native plants that provide nectar and pollen. We will remove existing sod, spade or fork the bed, amend with compost if necessary, position the pots according to the planting plan, dig holes, water, plant, water, and mulch. Later additions will include include benches and interpretive signs, as part of the Pipeline Trail Master Plan being undertaken by the City of Hamilton. The gardens are part of the Pollinators Paradise project, an initiative between Environment Hamilton and the Hamilton Naturalists' Club with support from the Edith H Turner Fund of the Hamilton Community Foundation. Bring your own gardening tools if you like. Bring work gloves. Wear a sunhat, sunscreen. No open-toed shoes.
