To be fair though, this isn't really a case the LRT would be relevant. Neither the 6 nor the 51 (is it just the 5-to-university now?) run along the planned B-Line LRT route in the areas in question. The 6 meanders through Kirkendall/Durand, while the 51 plunges into the University along Sterling - LRT runs past the university on Main, and on King through downtown.

I'd hope that LRT would come coupled with a set of new routes abandoning the old "hub and spoke" model in favour of a sort of "spine and ribs" model. It would mean more transfers, but it would mean the "ribs" routes would be short loops allowing for more frequent service with fewer buses.

I'd expect at the very least that the 5 series of buses would be gone with LRT in place - instead, the rider would take the 6 to Main at Longwood and ride that to the LRT stop at Emerson, and then walk into campus from there... which isn't quite as convenient as getting dropped off right in the heart of campus. Perhaps we'd have a University/Westdale bus to feed Westdale into the University and to connect to the LRT stops.
