It is very sad to see such destruction of our natural landscape. Parks and small wild areas are very important to making our city a place where we want to live.

Great to hear that the local residents are organizing and you have the support of your local politician.

Yes, get the bylaws changed but the developers will always be lurking around city hall to change things back. We need a urban lobbying group of grass roots citizens that will defend and promote natural and built landscapes. While my focus is the protection of heritage buildings and heritage landscapes, I see no conflict in also protecting trees and natural landscapes. These are the elements of a successful urban village.

The power of developers is the lack of citizen engagement. If we are organized then politicians and city staff will listen and act in our interests.
