Sadly, I do remember the "blinking" around the Council table for what Mark Chamberlain said was "a small retail enterprise". Indeed, that is exactly what the Ti-Cats were, still are, and always will be. That's not a criticism, just a statement of fact.
It was the way Council responded which was, is, and always will be, worthy of criticism.
Whether Councillors blink this time also will be made clear within days. We'll likely see lots of hand-wringing and Hallmark-greeting-card-wrthy statements about valued and respected partners, and a brighter and healthier future for Hamiltonians, and how this is a "once in a generation opportunity." It's all nonsense given the actual investment details of the agreement to date. At least in my opinion.
If Mac, the Board, and Council actually behave like "valued and respected" partners, this thing could be magical. For all of us.
No blinking please.
