It's also true that the comparison is a bit odd. The chart leads one to believe that 22 LRT cars will hold as much as 18 buses, which would give you an operating cost of around $614K for LRT and $447K for BRT (independent of taking those 18 buses off the network -- factor them and the operating cost of LRT falls to $354K).

Odd that the contingency cost for BRT seems to be marginally higher (about 0.5%).

Missing are notable variables like driver salaries/benefits, insurance, fuel etc.

Also: Is that a lifecycle cost or an annual cost?
