I am a letter carrier and the wages weren't the main issue. The new way to work in regards with the new technology is. Winnipeg and Laval (in Quebec) have been the first two to work under this new ''Modernized Post'' and the results are devastating. A 1600% increase in work related injuries for Winnipeg and 1000% for Laval (Winnipeg started a year and a half ago and Laval less than a year).
That's food for thought. When people who know squat what the job is about try to implement new ways of working these are the results. I only have 6 years to go before retirement and I am very concerned that I will probably injure myself seriously because of that new way to work. I have never hurt myself seriously in 24 years (less than a week total of leave due to injury). Good luck to the new workers, some serious battles lie ahead...
