Yes, Ted Mitchell, you are correct, in your point of the statistics of Freight Train vs. Truck accidents. Not only accidents per tonne/km, but fuel efficiency (286 tractor-trailer loads per train).
I just become extremely frustrated with the lack of common sense that these ipod wearing idiots demonstrate. Hmm, lets do some simple math in physics: A multi-million pound freight train traveling 60MPH (potentially the actual speed restriction where Mark was is 15MPH) vs. a human with a weight of 150lbs. (For reference a single 6-axle locomotive weighs in at approx. 400,000lbs!) Once again survival of the fittest (mentally) applies.
On a funny side note, dry-erase markers come off the windows of locomotive cabs, without a trace ;)
