All of our corn processed into ethanol would yield 7-15% of our liquid fuel needs. Check out Not an answer but the butanol alcolhol makes more sense than ethanol.

Also look at Hybrid hazelnuts have ~60% oil. You can press them and run our farm on hazel biodiesel. It is a perennial bush, saves soil, has low inputs, etc.
