How about an inaugural trip of the restored HSR #521 to comemmorate the opening of the B-line LRT? The streetcar museum is always looking for volunteers to help restore the cars. Maybe we could start a Hamilton task force specifically devoted to it, and pitch the idea to the city. It would be technically feasible. Most LRT runs on the same 750VDC that older streetcars use. The track gauge might end up being different but that can be modified during restoration. Imagine the sight of that running down King St. again? This isn't that far out - other cities use restored streetcars both as heritage and functional transit. Some of the old TTC cars at the museum are actually run on the streets in Toronto for special events.
