I love the streetcar museum, I go about every year. I wouldn't make a big deal about Hamilton forgetting its past with streetcars. Every city did that. Streetcars just went out of style when cars came in. Later on they came back in the form of LRT when it became obvious that cars could not move everyone in a city efficiently. When you consider the concept of personal mobility was entirely new at the time, and becoming more easily accessible to the masses, it's not hard to understand why all our cities hopped aboard the 'motorization' bandwagon. However those mistakes won't be easily repeated with 50+ years of history to remind us of how bad a system it turned out to be. Not until they make flying cars or something.
