This is absolutely horrible!! They have no running tally of supporters, which means they can make up ANY NUMBER at all! Pathetic! Show some courage if you're truly up for a grown-up debate, Bob! And at least be original for crying out loud.
However, I basically see 1 of 2 things happening now:
1. The city chooses the EM site, and Hamilton's downtown core is basically a write-off forever. People from the newly formed suburbs will always be too scared to come downtown. And the stereotype that Hamilton is a suburb of Toronto becomes a reality.
2. We get nothing, and we lost this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to restore Hamilton into something we can all be proud of.
Thanks Bob Young, thanks for (probably) destroying the city you claim to love so much.
