Naive!! Commercial radio is all about listeners and ratings. Controversy means listeners - at whatever cost. Seeing CHML as a 'community service' is just not realistic.

Yes and no. In Canada, we still consider our airwaves to be publicly owned and though private stations are predominantly about listeners and ratings, they still have to be responsible and adhere to basic standards.

grassroots, if you hear 'poor-bashing' as you put it, complain to the CBSC.
