If McCain had dragged those Bush mudslingers who vilified both him & his family in his bid to lead the GOP in 2004 with the same dirty tactics through the court system, or better yet 'Pink Slipped' the lot of them he would have been a lot better off.
I think most Americans never want to see a filthy campaign like this again.
I have spoken to a few U.S. citizens who supported Obama, who have now lost good & in some cases life-long friends who supported McCain. Former friends who simply differed in politics before the election are now are not speaking to each other. Some GOP supporters refer to Obama's win as 'God's Punishment' & "A trial to test (our) faith".
(I have heard that God moves in mysterious ways, but was not aware that fixing elections was one of them.)
If you look at maps of the States that indicate which supported the GOP or the Dems, it looks weirdly like the breakdown of States & Territories during the Civil War.
I hope the GOP is happy that they have carved a nation up like a Xmas turkey!
