Mr Merulla would benefit from a course in Hamilton's Working History and specially the fight for the eight hour day. He might also be refreshed by the Hamilton&District Labour Council's support for the 32 Hour week (circa 1975). The Resolution passed the OFL and the CLC and was interpreted to mean four eight hour days, assuming the standard 3 x 8 shift pattern of those times rather than the 4 x 6 + 8 which was considered unworkable. Eight hours is sacred to Labour and anything over eight in a workday is overtime. Get to know the history of working class Hamilton Mr Merulla.
