You're right on Josh. I hate malls and shopping and all that nonsense, but am regularly in Jackson Sq. It is a community centre/library/market/ethnic eatery/cafe haven/art and theatre groups have offices in there. It is a great spot in the heart of the city. with some physical changes to the building and better integration with the market and the beautiful open space on the roof, it could be a great downtown centre. It's certainly enjoying a turnaround. Hopefully it will continue.
