Insane to contemplate moving out of the core.
I have an idea (which might not be very popular here). Knock down the current City Hall.
I'm sorry, I don't see any historical value to this building. It was a problem from the day it opened.
With this 10 acres, a proper mix of office space, hotel/condo and parkland can be created.
As for administrative offices for the city; they should have bought the old Eaton's Centre when they had a chance. Costs, with renovations would have only been in the $25 to $30 million range.
They would've been in the part of the core that needed it the most. They could also have utilized Lister in some way.
The long suffering merchants in that complex actually have smiles on their faces these days because of the city staff in that building.
If a deal can be worked out with the current owner I say this is the way to go!
