In our community, the norm for daily use tends to be: 2 person families have 2 vehicles, 3 person families have 3, 4 have 4, 5 have 5. Plus, a large percentage also have motorcyles, and/or summer cars and/or commercial vehicles and/or recreational vehicles. Averaged out, we came up with 4 per unit. This trend is one of the reasons we are advocating for a city bus to our area. We have @1,500 new units currently being built and as a city, we need to offer alternative modes of transportation before those new to our area follow the same pattern. Having a bus connect to the LRT would be great for us as well.
