To be fair guys, the y days of regional or long distance passenger railroading will come when the railways, regardless of whom it is, figures a way to make up for non cost covering rail lines (the majority of them). That's why every passenger train used to have at the least one mail (RPO Car)and baggage car for packages and mail sorting. That's why significant portions of all railway stations had freight express services and mail handling facilities. It was the loss of the mail and baggage contracts to trucking that did in passenger lines because the passenger carrying portion of the line rarely made money. You can only rely for so long or so much on the tax payer to subsidize money losing rail lines. We have to be honest with ourselves and find someway to pay for it so it can break even. Once that is achieved, those lines will come back in a big way! One question is the picture of that that track near Bayview Junction?
