As I have said many times. The best stat on major issues - like fluoride in the water, Red Hill, LRT, making King and Main two way streets, building a new City Hall v. renovating an old one, is a referendum. We live in a modern world. Computers are everywhere.

Our City is rife with waste. Remember the tens of millions lost on the new never built City hall? Remember how we turned a 100 mil highway into a multi-hundred mil highway? Its easy to blame those who made the decisions on these very big items after the fact. But if we voted for it, it would be hard to blame them.

Maybe there should be a monetary threshold. Any project over 10 million goes on the ballot. Maybe nothing would get done then, but at least I would like to give it a try.
