50% of the people does not equal 50% of the traffic. The bus lanes are causing serious congestion down town, if you haven't seen it you must not drive down there often. The number of people the vehicle holds should have no bearing on how much of the road it's given. Why would it? What benefit is there to anyone other than bus drivers? I take public transit, the buses aren't faster with this new lane, they don't run on time more often that I can tell.
