Who says affordable housing can't be funky and green?
Some will love the architecture of a planned housing co-op in Toronto [PDF] that will be LEED certified. Others will hate it. But boring it ain't.

Notice the green terraces on the rooftops as well. It's a definite improvement over slabs of commie-blocks and jungles of townhomes.

love it! anything "green" or the slightest bit funky is right up my alley. i'm also a big fan of converting containers [shipping boxes] into affordable housing. the versions i've seen look very similar to "habitat" in montreal.

Love it. I just wish it was like Habitat.
Although Habitat would get boring if every building was one. I think each city could do with a few.
