Recall Our Streets on TreeHugger

Last week, RTH contributor Nicholas Kevlahan drew a comparison between the recent GM vehicle recall and Hamilton's prevailing city street design, which is responsible for dangerously high vehicle speeds and has made Hamilton the second-most dangerous city in Ontario for pedestrians.

Kevlahan's clarion call to "Recall Our Streets" over their dangerous design defect has been picked up by Lloyd Alter at TreeHugger, who notes:

[Hamilton] is full of five-lane one-way streets lined with empty stores because it is so miserable to walk around. You can live in a lovely house on a quiet residential street but you can't get a quart of milk without getting in your car because what should be lively neighbourhood shopping streets are empty highways of speeding cars.

Big thanks to TreeHugger for a much-appreciated shout-out.
