A Poem in July

By Shekar Chandrashekar
Published May 12, 2013

This poem is dedicated to all mothers. My Mother passed away in July 1989.

Vacation in Provincial Park!
Yes, in Pancake Bay.
Away from the hustle and bustle
to breathe fresh air.
Evenings, fire.
Look across, blue water.
Look above, blue sky
Waves in ripple, hear
roaring calmness.
Placidity,
No telephone
No television.
Isn't quietness.
Emotion running high.
Loved one long gone
Is this escape?
No!
Serenity.
