Raise the Hammer
The City's Public Works department has published a strategic planning document [PDF] on the proposed John/Rebecca Park. The list of design constraints includes the following:
CON: City road widening designation [on John and Rebecca Streets]. Reduces the amount of programmable space.
Harry Stinson faced the same situation on Main Street at the Hamilton Grand, and now our newest park won't be as good as it could be because the city refuses to get of all these 'road widening designations' off the books.
Once again, a "hypothetical road widening that will probably never happen," as Andrew Dreschel put it, is holding up progress in making John/Rebecca a truly community-serving park. Progress is going to take a loooooooong time in this city.

Luckily, it will be a brand new parking lot en route to becoming a city park!

I heard that the Hamilton Grand is deader than a doornail, anyways...so Stinson won't have to worry about that asinine designation any longer!
