The Hamilton Civic League has just launched the next phase of their campaign to improve voter turnout in Hamilton with a door-to-door survey across the city to assess the values and priorities of Hamiltonians as we approach the upcoming municipal election.
HCL Chair Larry Pomerantz is quoted in a press release saying, "This won't be government or big business telling us what we want or need for our community; the people who live, work and play here will be provided an opportunity to tell them what we want."
The HCL is also calling for volunteers to help administer the survey. Volunteers can register online, by visiting the Volunteer Centre of Hamilton and District at 267 King St. E., or by calling the HCL at 905-523-4444.
Volunteers do not have to commit to long tours of duty. If you don't have a lot of time to spare, you can volunteer for as little as an hour.
