Revitalization

The Right Place at the Wrong Time

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride dept:

I was the 99,991st visitor to the Art Gallery of Hamilton on December 8 when I went in to meet someone for lunch.

Steve Denyes, the communications manager for the AGH, broke the news to me as I walked through the door.

Ten minutes later, Kim Shippey walked in to an eruption of fanfare and congratulations.

That's 100,000 visitors in a little less than seven months - not bad, considering the previous record was 74,000 visitors in the entire year of 2001.

Congratulations to the AGH for a very successful rebirth.
