Have you seen this short film?
It was the winner of a short film festival in Australia called Tropfest.
It's called "Be My Brother", and it has a lot to say about how we treat both those we love and strangers we might meet at a bus stop.
It isn't maudlin in the least, for all that it is moving. It's about seven minutes long, and outstanding not only for its execution, but also for the exceptional performance of the actor who plays the main character.
One of my pet peeves is that intellectually disabled characters in major films are played by Hollywood stars (in a transparent Oscar beg), when there are others who are perfectly skilled actors and much, much more believable.
