Miss April Day's School for Burgeoning Young Strippers

I toured with Miss April in 2007 and she was doing the same show then. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Miss April knows how to play with her audience. Literally. She has vulnerability and a good sense of humour and timing that comes from being comfortable on stage.

I like her little storybook and the politics that she sneaks in among the fluff. I appreciate the narrative that she follows with re-occurring characters and the allusions to the Y & R, which keep the story ridiculous.

The style of the play merits song - but I think karaoke would be a better choice for Miss April. Other than that - a fun piece which is worthy of fringe fans.

Karaoke?!...Come on, sure she ain't no Diva (she's playing a stripper for crying out loud)...the songs are in fact a hightlight of this wonderfully fun and surprisingly revealing production. Though "karaoke" is a "clever" little dig by our reviewer it is totally irrelevent to the integrity and honesty to Miss Aprils vocal expression (in song or otherwise).

Put it on and belt it out Miss April!

Peace and Congrats
