Tell Me Another

Just when you thought it was safe to read someone a seemingly harmless faerie tale, Tell Me Another comes along and reminds you what faerie tales are really all about.

Through use of music, song, dance and drama, the incredibly talented cast performs a series of faerie tales as they were originally intended: as tales of morality, with warnings and consequences; tales of sheer terror and human vulnerability.

The audience is engaged and utterly enchanted by the performances by each cast member and emotions are stirred and tested throughout the show. With clever and unique delivery, choreographer/dancer Roopa Cheema is both Red and Wolf and restores the tale back to its blood-drenched origins.

Following her raw and effective performance is bard Graham Porter who gathers the audience for the murderous tale of The Juniper Tree. His remarkable ballad fills the audience with a false sense of security and leaves them with a lingering feeling of terror.

Lastly, puppeteer Michael Scott sits and tells a few bedtime stories, laced with absolute dysfunction and a re-enactment of his relationship with his daughter. This one leaves the audience wildly uncomfortable and unsure how to stomach the end to his delusional tale.

With only some minor staging flaws and tedious transition changes, Tell Me Another is a powerful re-interpretation of some of our favourite childhood stories. It's extremely well managed and delivered by all the performers and is a beautiful and chilling show. Leave the kids at home but definitely do not miss this astounding performance.
