Not long after running an election based almost entirely on attack ads with no long-term plan for the economy, and then co-opting much of the Liberal economic platform in its 2009 budget, the Conservative Party has released an attack ad against Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff, accusing him of running attack ads and not having a long-term plan for the economy:
Honestly, you can't make this stuff up.

I watched an interesting video last night and it depicted the role of mainstream media in regard to political forums. With the maintream media now in fewer corporate hands, one does have to question the message that they are trying to send.
In the video, they touched on teh role of the internet and that currently people can access other sources for views that are more realistic.
But how long before this medium is bought out and the message will become another mainstream, corporate media agenda that is in line with "big Brother"?
Why is it that they never really focus in on the issues, why is the "party" message is the one that is told?
People need to wake up to the this fact before it is too late.

That video is funny. "Just visiting." Perfect.
To clarify for the hard-left: I do not support the Conservative nor Liberal agendas. I just think that the way the commercial was orchestrated is golden.

Big C Conservatives (and their more degenerate US counterparts in the Republican Party) have long been known for the tactic of accusing their opponents of the very abuses they are busy committing. However, this video cuts just a bit too close to the bone.
"History started when Obama was elected.", to quote Jon Stewart.
Conservatives tend to prey on the uneducated and do less to promote education. I know people don't want to say that or hear it. And I'll likely be criticized for saying it, but I believe it to be true.

No wonder voter turnout is at an all time low. All the parties treat us like jabbering morons, these kinds of ads with the ominous music or the black and white colour palettes only preach to the choir. Today's voters have been marketed to their whole lives, they know BS when they hear it and are tuning out entirely.
These ads infuriate me because not only are they wasting tax dollars on ineffective ads, but because frankly they're undermining the democratic values of this nation by alienating and disillusioning huge groups of people.
