Hamilton General Hospital Issues Code Green

By Trey Shaughnessy

Hamilton General Hospital has issued a 'Code Green' alert.

All ambulances are suggested be diverted to other emergency rooms until further notification.

A spokesperson for Hamilton Health Sciences stated that they are not authorized to divulge the reason for the alert.

We do not know at this time why the "code green" has been issued, but if you need to attend a hospital please be advised.

And can't wait for the day he stops hearing "on facebook".

not authorized to divulge the reason for the alert??

yea, great call.
Because we all know that hospitals aren't ever used by the public or funded by the public. No reason why we should know what's going on.

Hospitals have all sorts of colour codes for various reasons including fires, hostage situations, and bomb threats.

The point of the colour codes is to avoid a mass panic, since most "situations" are resolved very quickly. Rest assured that as a member of the public you would never be allowed to enter a hospital during a major crisis.

I'd much rather hear "You can't come in because there's a small nitrogen leak" than "You can't come in because there's a 'Code Green' alert". Then again, that's just me!
