McMaster Water Week is a series of events for faculty, students, and the local Hamilton community that connects all aspects of water, including climate change, industry, sustainability, and society.

The last full week of October will be an interesting one at McMaster University! Campus will be buzzing with scientists, environmentalists, policy makers, filmmakers, and concerned citizens for the third annual McMaster Water Week.
McMaster Water Week is a series of events for faculty, students, and the local Hamilton community that connects all aspects of water, including climate change, industry, sustainability, and society.
It is the premier event of McMaster Water Network and McMaster Water Network Student Chapter, a University-wide initiative composed of faculty, alumni, community partners and students that seeks to connect water science, technology, and policy to deliver local and global impacts.
This year's schedule is packed with distinguished lectures, a career workshop, laboratory tours, an award-winning documentary screening and panel with the filmmaker, a tour of Woodward Wastewater Treatment Plant, a student research showchase, and an interdisciplinary water research seminar series. All events are FREE, open to the public, and most of them are catered!
McMaster Water Week brings together anyone and everyone interested in water and water-related issues under one interdisciplinary roof! This is an excellent opportunity not only to learn a few things about 72% of the planet, but also to network with heavy hitters of academia, industry, and both the Hamiltonian and global communities.

Tour of Woodward Wastewater Treatment Plant by the City of Hamilton
"Boreal Burning! Managing Wildfire in an Era of Warming & Drought" lecture by Dr. Mike Waddington (School of Geography and Earth Sciences).
Interdisciplinary Water Research Seminar Series by McMaster Faculty and a special delegation from the Chinese government.
EXPLOR Career Night with professionals from industry, academia, and other sectors in a casual setting.
"Water-Related Disasters and Sustainable Development," lectures by Dr. Vladimir Smakhtin and Dr. Nidhi Nagabhatla from United Nations University.
Guided laboratory tours of participating McMaster University labs and the McMaster Water Network Student Chapter Rain Garden and Rain Harvesting System
Documentary screening of PROJECT: ICE and panel discussion featuring filmmaker William Kleinert
