Live results commence at 10:00 pm once polls are closed across the country. Feel free to start making predictions below! As well as the information above we'll be posting major updates in this article.

The ban on early election results posting has been broken on Twitter. It shouldn't surprise anyone that information travels rather freely in the digital age, especially in free societies. That said, before breaking the law, consider the potential consequences.

10:05 pm: First Results Have CBC Predicting Conservative Government & Possibly A Majority

CBC has results and they indicate that the Conservatives are doing very well. The parties are leading or elected in seats as follows:

10:12 pm: Jack Layton Predicted To Be Leader Of Official Opposition

After a massive NDP surge in the latter weeks of the campaign, Jack Layton will now become the leader of the official opposition, predict multiple media outlets.

10:32 pm: Christopherson Re-elected

David Christopherson, the NDP candidate in Hamilton Centre, has such a lead is such that he's being acclaimed as the official winner in Hamilton Centre, surprising no-one.

10:47 pm: Conservatives Win Majority, Says Globe & Mail

The Globe & Mail is reporting that the Conservatives "surged" to a majority win tonight.

10:53 pm: It's Official: Conservatives Win Majority

In an election that saw the Liberals crumble, the Bloc destroyed, and the NDP make historic gains, the Conservatives have reached their long-sought majority, taking Canada back to majority government status for the first time in seven years and giving Stephen Harper a powerful mandate.
