Well, the people who have the most trouble with gentrification are working-poor home-owners. They have to pay property tax. Which, imho, is more of an argument against the regressive property-tax system instead of an argument against gentrification.

At the bare minimum, it brings in a bunch of service-industry jobs. Bohemian neighborhoods freaking love their coffee shops.
