Trinity Group has a conditional offer to buy a chunk of land adjacent to McMaster Innovation Park (MIP) and develop a big box plaza with an auto dealership and other commercial dreck.
The city, perhaps surprisingly, is opposed to this, having zoned the area for spin-off businesses connected to the research centre under the West Hamilton Innovation District Land Use and Servicing Review.
West Hamilton Innovation District Secondary Plan
Trinity has appealed the city's refusal to rezone the land to the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) for reconsideration. The city is hosting a public meeting to provide an update on the OMB appeal.
Trinity is behind neearly 20 million square feet of big box retail across Canada, including the Ancaster Meadowlands and the planned development at Clappison's Corners.
