We've just prepared a report titled An Economic Case for Light Rail in Hamilton that evaluates light rail based on ridership, economic development, operating costs, and other benefits.
You can download the report (in PDF) here:

Looks great! I printed a copy of this to leave in the lunchroom at work. Let's spread the word.
I guess you have sent this to city contacts already?

First, well done on the mobilization to wake this dullard council to the urgent importance of bringing a Light Rail Transit system to Hamilton!
I have written councillors and the mayor and have received tepid and craven comments that suggest that they love their busses and their time-wasting studies about Light Rail.
Can't we do more? Perhaps it's time to form an electronic petition on RTH? People could log in, provide an email address, postal address, and phone number in lieu of signatures all on RTH's website.
Once the politicians see that Light Rail is popular with the constituents, then perhaps they'll take the issue more seriously.

I would love to come to this event, but I currently live in BC.
I have written a letter to the editor at the Spec, though, and will continue to agitate from afar.
All the best to you guys!
