Enjoying the Gore Park Promenade

Just a normal weekday lunch at Gore Park:






Ryan McGreal, the editor of Raise the Hammer, lives in Hamilton with his family and works as a programmer, writer and consultant. Ryan volunteers with Hamilton Light Rail, a citizen group dedicated to bringing light rail transit to Hamilton. Ryan wrote a city affairs column in Hamilton Magazine, and several of his articles have been published in the Hamilton Spectator. His articles have also been published in The Walrus, HuffPost and Behind the Numbers. He maintains a personal website, has been known to share passing thoughts on Twitter and Facebook, and posts the occasional cat photo on Instagram.

this is fantastic.... lets nix the pilot project, consider it a hands down success and do it properly now!

The promenade is great, but it is a tragedy that the storefronts directly opposite are now vacant.

Hopefully this is the chicken and the egg scenario. They laid the egg and next comes the beautiful chicken. And I agree with Jason that I'm surprised its not featured during the weekend.

Exactly. The BIA is silent about the real issue on the Gore (Blanchard's vandalism) - but hey, there's a hot dog cart out front now!

great stuff, but it really needs to be permanent, and on weekends.

Permanent investment won't come to the Gore knowing that it is empty 80% of the year. And many folks can't make it to the Gore during weekday hours. I was hoping for this second year in operation it would run Friday evening and Saturday morning when the new outdoor farmers market stalls are in operation.

It could of been better i finished work at 3;30 pm by the time i got at the Gore at 4;30 there was ONLY a cup-cake cup they should make it for the broder poeples who work a 9 to 5 job and make it till 8 or something
