Pedestrian Killed, Motorist Charged with Impaired Driving

Hamilton Police Service just released a report of Hamilton's 13th traffic fatality this year. This past Sunday, August 21 at 1:00 AM, A 19-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a motorist at Mud Street East and Fifth Road East. She was taken to hospital but died from her injuries.

The motorist, a 19-year-old male driving a Pontiac Montana van, was charged with impaired driving causing death after police administered a breathalyzer test.

Police are asking anyone who has information about the collision to contact Detective-Constable Steve Ellis at 905-546-4753.

As much as we complain about how unsafe Hamilton's streets are, it's a reminder of how bad it is to be a pedestrian in a rural environment. So many people fantasize about having a pile of acreage out in the country and don't realize the hidden costs of that lifestyle.

So sad, for the family, for the victim... and yes, for the driver. Don't drink and drive, kids.

what the f. does this have to do with living in the country? ur retard..ed
this girl was SITTING in the middle of the road and one man was driving and one man was walking on the road. They BOTH claim to be her boyfriend. The man who was driving hit her causing her death.
