Hamilton Emergency Services just reported that an eleven-year-old boy was struck by an HSR bus today at 1:16 PM near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Vanwagners Beach Road.

According to EMS, the boy was treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to McMaster Children's Hospital "with serious head injuries". The EMS is not able to provide status on the boy's condition once he has been admitted to hospital.

Hamilton Police Service is holding the scene but has not yet released a formal report.

The City of Hamilton, which manages the HSR, responded to an inquiry from RTH with the statement, "Since a Police investigation is ongoing we are unable to provide a comment."

RTH will provide further details on the incident once they are available.
