Planning to participate in one of the city's three public information centres on the planned Airport Employment Growth District (AEGD) development around Hamilton International Airport? Get ready to start driving.
Two of the public meetings - on July 15 and September 8 - will be held at the Ancaster Fairgrounds, 630 Trinity Rd. RR#1, Jerseyville. The third meeting - on August 3 - will be held at the Warplane Heritage Museum, Dome Room, next to the airport at 9280 Airport Road in Mount Hope. All three meetings will be open from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
All three meetings are taking place during the summer, a time when many citizens are out of town on vacations, and none of them are being held inside the actual urban area of the city. I mean, why hold public meetings on a plan to expand the urban boundary by 2,000 acres inside the urban boundary?
The ever-intrepid Citizens at City Hall (CATCH) reports that a previous meeting held at the Warplane Heritage Museum drew several complaints about poor acoustics in the building making the presentation difficult to hear.
If you cannot make it out to one of the public meetings, you can also share your comments with the city by emailing email@example.com or mailing your comments to City Hall, 71 Main St. W., Hamilton ON L8P 4Y5.
