An Evening with Nicholas Wallace (Practitioner of the Art of Astonishment)

See this show. Yes, I was astonished! Illusionist Nick Wallace has a charming and gentle stage presence. He lures you into being part of the show without making you feeling silly, and he gives some fascinating history of illusionists and spiritualists.

There is surprise after surprise, even with some of the standard routines you may already have seen (the needle-swallowing one, for example, here beautifully done).

We still can't figure out how he knew the card that my companion Ron picked from a deck and then sat on until the end of the show. And the climax (when all is revealed) is great - I won't spoil it.

We're going back.
