Spring is one of my favourite times of the year. It's wonderful to see urban gardens come back to life, tree buds become full blooms, picnics at Victoria Park and piles of snow-hidden litter revealed in all their glory.
Yes, it's that time of the year - time to Clean up Hamilton.
I've organized a group clean-up with young people from our church annually for several years now and it's always a good time. Grab your family, neighbours, church or community organization and spend a couple of hours cleaning up our fine city next week.
You'll have a good time hanging out with folks you know and meeting new people, and you'll feel great for doing something positive in your neighbourhood that benefits everyone.
More info can be found at the city's Pitch In Week web page.

I should add that TODAY is the last day to register your group with the city. Obviously you can still organize a clean-up without being registered, but for those wanting to register, use the link above. Cheers

Jason, you are not very specific by what you mean by "clean up". Are you referring to ridding Hamilton of:
- A downtown full of bums and lowlifes
- A city of high taxes and ineffective local government
- Wasteful LRT spending
- Left wing politicians
- Way too much subsidized housing and social services
????

I was referring to litter in parks, on the sides of roads, city streets etc.... Hey, you should come join us, most of the litter has big corporate logo's on it. You could spare the landfill by collecting them and adding them to your shrine.
Unfortunately, we still don't quite have a remedy for cyber-litter....someday....

Jason, doesn't this city have a staff of highly paid unionized workers whose job it is to go around and clean up the streets and parks? Does the union know that you are stealing their jobs? You may have a whole new career waiting for you!
