Mac Wins Commuter Challenge

Once again Hamilton's McMaster University has won the commuter challenge competition for organizations in its size category.

It's nice to hear stories like this for a change in our city. With a city council bent on more sprawl and pollution, it must be a grassroots movement in the city that will bring changes to our modes of transportation.

The more people that begin to use alternative modes of transport, the larger and louder the voice will be towards city hall. And folks, we need to scream our heads off.

The best part of Mac's experience is that several participants have decided to make alternative commuting a year-round habit. I can speak from experience that there are many benefits to be had by using the bus, bike or walking more often.

Let's get out and clean up the air in Hamilton.
