Dates are not right

frank, obarkov: the language the chart was written in (Javascript) uses 0 for January, 1 for February, etc., which is counter-intuitive because normally you would think of 1 as January, 2 as February, and so on. Thus, every date in the original version was one month advanced. This has been fixed - thanks for the feedback.

I have a hard time arguing with Bratina about this actually. To my mind, he's been consistent throughout the process - he wants the stadium to be in the lower city of Hamilton, but isn't fond of the West Harbour. He wants to keep more lower-city locations on the table, incl. MIP and Confed. park (which is underrated as an option - taking part of that gigantic park is better than consuming employment lands, it could share parking with WWW... but it is kind of cut off from the city and has poor transit support). I still think knocking down Sir John. A is a terrible idea, though.

When the choice was between the West Harbour and other lower-city locations, he was pushing for those. When the choice became West Harbour vs. East Mountain, he supported the West Harbour because to him, keeping the stadium in the lower city is important. He's been consistent - he wants a downtown location, and is displeased with how quickly West Harbour pushed out all the other lower-city options. Every vote he's made has followed this logic.

But Fred's still got my vote.

from what I can tell, McHattie, Merulla and the Mayor are the only ones who have been consistent throughout this discussion.

Not to sound too conspiratorial, but I find it convenient that Bob's WH support really took off once Vranich wanted to build in the area.

Jason, nobody should be applauded for being consistently wrong.

How about consistently thoughtful, consistently goal oriented? As opposed to consistently panicky, consistently reactive.

Speaking of timelines...

At the emergency Council meeting last week, it was mentioned (by whom, I don't remember) that there is a document showing the various listed choices for locations for the stadium going back to the 'beginning'.

Has anyone come across this? It's supposed to be available at the City's site...but I'm having no luck at all.

2 things I hate about Bratina:

He has a narrow view of downtown- I heard him state more than a few times "there are 10000 people in Hess Village on a Saturday night but there's nobody downtown". He acts as if Hess is in Glanbrook or something! Same with his original notion that an East Harbour stadium would "cannabalize downtown business". So what is downtown? King between Bay and John?

He's Ronald Reagan without the actual leadership skills- Like Reagan, Bratina is the king at rolling out stories of the "good ol days" when Hamilton was a great city. Anything about Hamilton's past is positive. Anything about it present or future is negative. This appeals so much to people like my parents it's scary.
