I wish I could attend. Will someone tape it and put it on youtube?

Bratina has already said that he wants to look at Confederation Park as a possible location and put in a marina there too?. What a STUPID idea. The fact that he is saying that, and so early, makes me question his intelligence. I'm in shock really.

Forget about the stadium, no one wants it.Bob do the city a favour and put a stop to any stadium what so ever,we lost the track and field and if the Tiger cats want a stadium tell them to build their own ,but do not spend the tax payers dollar.you ran on the basis that you where going to make things different ? not show indifference to the voters.

Here is a link to an article titled "Stadiums generate wealth for inner-cities: expert" by John Kernaghan on the Hamilton Spectator wherein he interviews Professor Rosentraub, who was involved as a consultant in downtown stadium revitalization projects in Los Angeles and San Diego. He notes that these two projects have re-energized the downtowns of these two cities in "car culture" California. Professor Rosentraub believes that a stadium at the west harbour could do something similar for Hamilton and mentions four sports and entertainment development companies, including AEG, that might have shown interest in the project:

Thanks for the great link Renaissance. I'm really interested in what will be said tomorrow night. I hope at least one person from here will attend and at least provide a summary. It seems that consultants are often a waste of money, but it seems this guy's expertise would be of great help with the Hamilton stadium troubles.

He will be an academic sort worth listening to although I can't make it unfortunately. Interesting he is consulting with the Katz group. Although as we know it will be the people who will be showing the money who will decide rather than an academic. In this case governments at all levels and business. But nevertheless, academics do bring forth excellent points for all to ponder.

Newsflash for the doctor: We already have a stadium with a CFL team. I can't seem to recognize any "wealth creation" as of yet. A new building will cost $$$ and before we an claim there is any "wealth creation" we will have to first offset the initial cost. How many years will it take to offset this initial cost? What will we do with the money then? Is there a wish list? Why not short-circuit the whole process and use the existing money to pay for things on the wish list?
