In celebration honouring Ludwig Van Beethoven’s 250th birth, CHORUS HAMILTON, one of Hamilton’s finest choral ensembles, is delighted to present Beethoven’s Mass in C Major and his Piano Concerto #4, both with chamber orchestra, on Sunday, March 8, 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church, 29 Park Street West, Dundas, Ontario.
The first of Beethoven’s two masses opens up new worlds of expression for the liturgical texts of the Mass which are expressly modern and point towards the future. It paves a way to an hitherto unknown, contemporary avenue to faith which today is still current.
In this most gently spoken and poetic of all his concertos, featuring Hamilton’s own Erika Reiman, Beethoven offers his most profound expression in his Piano Concerto #4.
Tickets for this concert are $30.00 general admission, those under 18 free, and can be purchased through the website at www.chorushamilton.ca, by e-mail at chorushamilton@yahoo.ca, or by contacting Joan at 905-318-9381.
