The Hamilton community is invited to mark Earth Day with a conversation on the future of Hamilton Harbour.

On Friday April 22, join leading community and McMaster experts for "Big Ideas, Better Harbour," part of McMaster's "Big Ideas, Better Cities" series, a year of events showcasing how research can help cities respond to 21st century challenges.

"Big Ideas, Better Harbour" will bring together members of the McMaster and Hamilton communities to identify ways we can work together to support a healthy and thriving harbour.

This event includes feature talks and a panel discussion moderated by Chris McLaughlin Executive Director of the Bay Area Restoration Council (BARC), as well as a "Blue Drinks” networking celebration, co-hosted by the Canadian Water Network.

Expert speakers include, Chris Phillips, Senior Advisor to the General Manager of Planning & Economic Development at the City of Hamilton and Dean of Humanities and Hamilton historian, Ken Cruikshank.

Among the panelists are Jay Carter, Hamilton Project Manager at Evergreen Cityworks, a Hamilton organization focused on tackling critical urban infrastructure issues, and Rob Fiedler, an urban geographer and cartographer.
